YAKIMA offers a menu with locally inspired ingredients influenced by Aboriginal, Asian and North American cuisine.

Our mixology essentials are inspired by our handcrafted beverage program that is influenced by Aboriginal, Asian and North American features. This is complemented by our Bourbon Program, distinctive wine on tap, an all Canadian craft beer collection and locally sourced spirits.

Designed to feel and operate as a “destination restaurant,” the restaurant seeks to be a culinary destination for locals and travelers alike. THE TEAM

Bruno Medeiros

Bruno Medeiros, the General Manager of Yakima Social Kitchen + Bar, brings with him fifteen years’ experience in premium casual dining establishments. Growing up in Brazil, his cultural background has contributed to Bruno’s flair for international cuisines, along with his fluency in Portuguese, English and Spanish. His Passion for exploration has brought him to 52 countries, spending extended-stays in Brazil, France, the United States, the United Kingdom and now, Canada.

As a graduate of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Bruno loves interacting with guests, and feels accomplished when he can make someone’s day with his exemplary service. Just last year, Bruno was the recipient of the Global Event Management Service Award and the White Hat Award as best Host/Maitre D’. To unwind after a long day, you can find Bruno enjoying a Chinook Gin and Tonic or a Love Caipirinha at the Yakima Social Kitchen + Bar.

 

Chef John Forsythe

Our executive chef,  John Forsythe, spent most of his childhood in his hometown of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.  As a child,  he wanted to be a professional basketball player.  Unfortunately his height (and possibly skill) became limiting in this dream. Luckily, another dream was eventually  born and his goal changed to become a chef. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to cook for John Travolta, Alec Baldwin, Robin Williams, Dr. Ruth, and perhaps the most nerve wracking was Bob Hope, while he was an apprentice. As a Level 2 Sommelier, his favorite beverage is a noble glass of Pinot Noir.  Chef Forsythe is a leader in the kitchen with values in comradery and creative process. Chef Forsythe has built many important relationships  within the industry and has a passion in creating meaningful connections with his team and our guests.  His dream vacation would be spending the day golfing in Australia, followed by dinner at his favorite restaurant ,Ten Minutes, by Tractor, in Mornington Peninsula, Australia.
